other, the other, another 是什麼意思？
如果要好好理解這個問題，
我們先談一談什麼是The？The就像中文的「那」字，有指定的意思。
an apple一個蘋果(隨便的一個)/ the apple 那個蘋果(指定的那個)
another apple另外一個蘋果/ the other apple另外那一個蘋果(指定的)
other apples其他蘋果/ the other apples另外那些蘋果(指定的)
10other apples另外10個蘋果/the other10apples另外那10個蘋果(指定的)

有了這個概念後，現在我會先說一說other及another的關係/分別，
再慢慢說the怎樣加進去。
*留意以下例子的粗體字，去掌握它們成為代名詞之後的意思改變。

[other 前面不加數量]：解作為「其他」
I love you. You are my only one. 我愛你，你是我的唯一。
I don't care what other people think. 我不介意其他人怎麼想。
I don't care what others think. 我不介意其他人怎麼想。(others代名詞)
[other 前面加數量]：解作為「另外」
I can't forgive you. Two of my cats die because of you.
我不能原諒你。我的兩隻貓因你而死。
Two other cats went missing. 另外兩隻貓失蹤。
Two others went missing. 另外兩隻貓失蹤。(變了代名詞)
No other boyfriend is worse than you. 沒有另外的男友比你更差。
No other is worse than you. 沒有另外的男友比你更差。(other代名詞)
Please give me three other chances.(另外三次)
Please give me two other chances.(另外兩次)
Please give me another chance.(另外一次)

「其他」vs 「另外」

*由於one other有最後的意思，所以很多時大家改用another這個字。

沒有[the]後面東西就是非指定。
*another, two other, three other... 其餘N個的意思。
*the other, the two other, the three other... 其餘「那」N個的意思。

都是“其他”的意思，明显的区别是语境中已知范围， other有范围，another 没有范围。
other, 其他，the other 两个中的另一个，another 另外一个
other: 其他，一般指不同的人或者事物或者已经提及的，前面一般可以加the= the other, 可以加数字：three other
加数字的时候，表示，其他的几个人，比如 three other: Mary, Claire and three other students were here. Mary，Claire和其他三个学生刚刚在这里。
the other：则表示两个中的另一个，比如：he raised one arm and then the other. 他举起一只胳膊，然后举起另一只。
the others: 这里的other加s作复数指多个人或者多个物，语境中是大家知道的，比如，where is the others? 其他人呢？
the other 后面可以加one= the other one，另一个， 这个one是代指说话的两个人已经知道是什么，比如，桌上本来放着两个苹果，结果不见了一个，你可以说：where is the other one?
another：另一个，没有范围。
another 后面➕单数名词 / 加数字复数名词
比如：would you like another drink? 你要再来一个饮料吗？drink 单数名词
同样，another 后面可以加数字，比如 another three，
I have got another three questions to do. 我还有另外三道题要完成。这里说的三道题是做作业的这个人知道，但是听他说话的人不知道的。所以并不是两个人已知的。但是如果是：I have to finish the other three questions. 我要完成其他三个问题，表示两个人知道是哪三个题。

Other, The Other, Another的区别
Other, The Other, Another 都不是一样的意思吗？
Other: 这个意思表示 “其他的，另外的，别的，剩余的别的东西”等等。一般来说，意思指着剩下的东西还是有比较多的或者至少有两个。
The other: 这个和上面的区别在于“the"。 加上 "the" 的时候，只能表示有另外一个某一种东西。如果有两种选择，一个人选第一个你只能选 "the other"。
Another: 这个词表示你已经有了某一种东西，你还是想另一个。你喝啤酒的时候你可以再喝一杯。“Have another beer."
Other, The Other 和 Another 的例子：
Other: "Other people say she is very beautiful, but I think she is just average." (别人都说她很漂亮，但是我觉得她颜值就一般一般的。）
"This shirt is too small. Do you have any other sizes?" (衬衫的大小比较紧。你有没有其他的合适的大小吗？）
The other: "I can't find the other shoe!" (我找不到这双鞋子的另一个）
"I got us two kinds of ice cream. I will have this one and you can have the other." (我给我们买了两种冰淇凌。我吃这个，你可以吃另一种）
Another: "I have already eaten one piece of cake, but I think I will have another." (我已经吃了一块蛋糕，但是我还是想再吃一块。）
"Do you have another phone charger? Mine is broken." （你有没有另一个充电器？我的弄坏了。）
我们可以将另一个与单数或复数可数名词一起使用。1.用单数名词表示两个事物或人中的第二个。我们有两辆车;一个是花冠，另一个是陆地巡洋舰。2.另一个带有复数名词表示一个群体中剩余的人或物。我们班有十名学生。
另一个：
我们使用另一个单数可数名词和不可数名词，它意味着“多一个”或“一个额外的事物或人”或“一个替代或不同。
其他：
我们可以使用其他不可数名词和单数或复数可数名词，如下所述：
1.用来指人们附加或不同的东西。
我们班上有几个学生。一名学生来自伊斯兰堡。另一名学生来自卡拉奇。其他学生来自奎达
这个太大了。你有其他尺寸吗？
其他：
我们可以将另一个与单数或复数可数名词一起使用。
1.用单数名词表示两个事物或人中的第二个。

Other 表示“别的，其他的”，不能单独使用，后面一定要接名词，不是指剩下部分的全部
We learn English, Maths and other subjects. 我们学校英语，数学以及其他的一些科目。
The other 多指代“两者中的另一个”或者“一群物品里面剩余的最后一个”
I have 2 pens. One is blue, the other is pink. 我有两只笔，一只是蓝色的，其他一只是粉色的。
Another 多为“另一”，后面可以加可数名词单数，也可以加可数名词的复数。
This glass is dirty, can you give me another one? 这个杯子脏了，你可以给我拿另一个吗？（意为，随便一个其他的杯子）
There are only 2 glasses on the table, but there are another 5 in the cupboard. 桌子上只有2个杯子，但是柜子里还有另外5个呢！
other是其他的，the other是其餘的，another是另一個(常用來當作中間串場的字)，這是國高中的重點文法之一，也是考試愛考的。
如何分辨other, the other, another?
這類型的考題，都有一套固定的流程或起手式，所以很容易分辨。
一般來說，「the」代表講的事情有範圍，相反則沒有，請見例句如下。
有範圍與沒範圍
沒範圍:
Some people like dogs while other people like cats.
→有些人喜歡狗，有些人則喜歡貓。(沒有範圍，而且一定還有喜歡其他動物的人沒提到。)
有範圍:
There are three pens on the table. One pen is red, another pen is blue, the other pen is black.
→桌上有三支筆，一支紅的、一支藍的、其餘的是黑的。(有明確的範圍，所以講到剩下的那一支時，要加the。)
有範圍+the，沒範圍就不用
這類題目的考法基本上都是固定如上方這樣的，除此之外，other 也可以直接當名詞，把後方的東西給吃掉，寫成other即可，但是如果後方的名詞是複數，在吃掉後，other要加上s，所以依照上面的例句，也可以改寫成:
Some people like dogs while others like cats.
There are three pens on the table. One is red, another is blue, and the other is black.
若總數是「二」,其中之一以one為代名詞,以the other指剩餘的
I have two friends. One is an American,the other is a British.
(我有2個朋友，其中一個是美國人，另一個是英國人)
若總數是「三」,其中之一以one為代名詞,以another指剩餘的其中之一,以 the other 指剩下僅存的
The CD player has three sound effects. One is jazz, another is rock and the other is pop.
( 這台CD播放器有三種音響效果。一種是流行，另外一種是搖滾，還有一種是流行。)
若總數是「三」或「大於三」,其中之一以one為代名詞,以
another指剩餘的其之一,以the others指剩餘的部分(扣除前二類)
