I am a university graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching with a concentration in English and Spanish from Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia. I also have the (100 hour) TESOL/TESL/TEFL Certification from Oxford Seminars and completed translation and interpreting courses from Austin Community College. I am comfortable teaching Spanish to students from all backgrounds and at different skill levels. Working abroad, I have developed strong communication and team-building skills. I look forward to the diversity of experiences acquired by working with students from many different backgrounds. I have developed and implemented strategies to target learning in elementary through high school. I think that learning is an adventure so it is important to enjoy and have fun in this process for that reason I love planing lesson in a creative way so my student would enjoy it and take advantage of it.
My responsibilities were: Student adviser, counselor, creative lesson plan designer.
As a teacher, I promoted English as a foreign Language, I demonstrated effective classroom management with 36 varied students and I developed strong relationships and communication with parents from varied backgrounds through e-mail, face-to-face contact and phone communication.
As teacher, I adhered to state laws and policies while evaluating student performance, I integrated technology in to lessons to engage and promote learning and I used of Smart Boards, Movie Maker, and lab activities
