Hello, my name is Shalati, and I am excited to teach English online. I enjoy reading books and cooking. During my university studies, I started to volunteer every other Monday with Friend’s International from January 2013 to April 2019 for 6 years. The main focus of the group is to help international students practice their English. My role as a volunteer included assisting international students from non-English speaking countries to improve their English language speaking and listening skills. During the events, a volunteer like me would help the students pick a topic for the table to discuss in English during the event. Additionally, I hold a 120 hours TEFL certificate which qualifies me to teach English as a second language.
I can assist students in the following learning areas:
If you need help with your grammar and pronunciation, I can assist you.
If you have a lack of confidence with your English speaking and listening skills, I can assist you by conducting
conversational lessons in English.
If you need assistance to prepare for your IELTS exam or an interview, I can help you.
My teaching style is more of a learning by doing, which involves repeating what you see and listen to as a student based on the material provided by the teacher. Additionally, I would use English learning textbooks available via Google books such as the English for Everyone Level 1: Beginner Practice Book. I would also use the free online resources provided by the ESL website to create my lesson plan. Please note that if you need to reschedule or cancel the class it must be done 12 hours before the class, start time.
