WHO AM I?
Hello and welcome to my page on AT.
My name is Kamila and I have been teaching English in one way or another for 7 years.
I was born in Canada (Toronto) and grew up in the United States (Chicago).
I like to keep up with current events and am also interested in history, movies, books, languages, pop culture, psychology, learning about different cultures, and especially meeting new people.
MY QUALIFICATIONS
I have a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada and am currently studying psychology at University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
I earned a certificate in English Instruction in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. There I worked as an English teacher for 3 years. Later I moved to Taiwan, where I worked for another 3 years, giving English courses at various companies, like the Taiwan Stock Exchange and Yahoo.
WHAT DO I OFFER?
In a nutshell, I help people become more comfortable with using English.
In class we will discuss topics that are important to you and that you can use to form relationships with others. These topics include values, friendship, career, hobbies. As we get to know each other better you will start to feel more comfortable trying new words, making mistakes, and asking me questions.
I also help people study for exams including
- IELTS
- TOEFL
- TOEIC
- CELPIP
- CELBAN
I have many years of exam training experience and knowledge about all of these tests. I have helped many students reach their test goals.
Lastly, I offer guidance to people moving to or travelling to Canada. Together we will discuss Canadian culture, customs, and way of life. I will share with you what it is like to survive a winter in Canada, how people interact with their neighbours, and the many special words and phrases Canadians use.
