Hi there!
My name is AJ, born and raised in the Philippines.
[Experience|Qualification|Teaching Style]
I am an experienced ESL teacher and for almost 4 years, I have been teaching students of various age groups, from different walks of life around the world including China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Portugal, and Spain. As a result, I’ve become well-versed in terms of gauging the proficiency level of my students in speaking English so I can adjust well in catering their needs while considering their learning goals in each of our classes.
Despite my young age, being a Psychology major is what made me a highly competent teacher in the ESL industry as I use Psychological principles when dealing with students to maximize students’ holistic language learning experience.
Aside from that, I am TESOL certified and I am also well-trained for exam preparations such as IELTS and TOEFL. I also focus on both technical and conversational English while having mindful and engaging discussion and this is what sets me apart from the others.
Most importantly, I believe that learning English is not only about studying. It is also an opportunity for us to learn about other people and how we can have a connection with them. In line with this, I make sure that each of my students isn't just "any" student because in my class, I am a tutor, a mentor, and a friend.
[Personal Tidits About Me]
I am a Psychology major and a debate coach.
I'm a kind of person who's very interested in doing mindfulness practices such as yoga and sitting meditation.
I also consider myself as a musician because I like singing and playing musical instruments such as guitar and piano.
I'm also very fond of reading self-improvement books, watching inspirational and enlightening videos like TedTalk and Impact Theory. I also like watching films, animes, and series from different countries.
I believe that our purpose in life is to be compassionate, to reach enlightenment and self-actualization.
See you in one of my classes!
