My name is Guanayra Dias, I am 26 years old and I am both French and Brazilian, which is the main reason why I love different cultures. I am very interested in fashion, food, languages and traveling, because I believe these subjects are a fundamental part of every culture. As a consequence of my interests, I got a scholarship to study fashion design in the US in 2013. I like to adapt my teaching style according to the students needs, expectations and capabilities. I normally tackle students` difficulties using fun ways (songs, movie scenes, games) to explain and develop their skills, so they don`t get frustrated over something that is already hard for them. I am a very fun, outgoing and extrovert type of teacher, I enjoy creating a relaxed learning environment because I believe it`s easier to understand and learn a new subject when students are not under pressure. However, I do check the homework assignments, I do follow deadlines very strictly and I also regularly check the student`s interest and motivation. I have being an English teacher for three years and I have worked in two different schools and as a private teacher. I have experience with children, teenagers and adults from beginners to advanced students. I currently teach in what we call a professionalizing course helping underprivileged high school students to improve their skills, build a strong resume and get better opportunities at their first job.
